Deep Dish White Chicago Pizza

If you are craving for a creamy, salty, sweet and tasty fix of pizza then probably you will have to try Sbarro's White Chicago Pizza. It is heaven on earth with the cheese melting on your mouth, the bursting the sweetness from the pineapple, aroma coming from the basil and saltiness from the ham. Truly it is one satisfying slice of pizza. The crust is truly superb that one cannot help but ask for more. although one slice is enough to fill you up.

Tibiao's Pancit Palabok - Filipino at its Best

If you are craving for Filipino food and you only have 30 pesos left in your pocket, surely Pancit Palabok from Tibiao will be a good meal to have. A hefty serving of Pancit Palabok with a generous topping of eggs, pork, chicharon and many other ingredients.

Taco Pizza - The Healthy Pizza

More and more people are becoming more health conscious nowadays, that is why many restaurants are coming up with healthy choices to provide the needs of their customers who are health conscious and wants an alternative to meat choices. Good thing that Afrique's Gourmet Pizza and Pasta offers Taco Pizza. I must say this is one of my favorites from the well loved Italian inspired restaurant. A creamy filling with luscious and abundant toppings of lettuce, tomatoes, ground beef and  cheese; it will make one crave for more.

Pizzaro - A Pizza Experience

Yesterday, while we were on our way home. We passed by Pizzaro, a new pizza restaurant in front of St.Therese Hospital. The place was a cozy place to enjoy good food. On their menu, there were plenty of pizza flavors to choose from. each of their pizza has a country of origin. Since I love Greece, we chose the Greeziki pizza which had olives, tuna and herb cheese as ingredients. Anthony had their seafood marinara pasta.

Greeziki - Greek Pizza

Forgive us for the "not so good pictures" since no camera as well as mobile phone was available at the time. Good thing I had my laptop with me, so we made use of my webcam. Very brilliant idea out of desperation.

Over all the winner for that night was Greeziki. The pasta was average and I would not recommend their Roast pork with BBQ sauce. Pizzaro is worth a second visit.

Chicken Satay - Putting a twist to your Chicken

Many may not be aware but Chicken Satay or sate is a popular dish in Asia particularly in Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand. Many versions are available depending on your taste. Aside from chicken, you can make use of pork, lamb, goat, fish or even vegetables as long as you marinate it then serve with a sauce. The sauce may vary, either it is pineapple based, peanut based or served with cucumber relish. But the most popular here in the Philippines will be the peanut sauce.

Last December, I was able to taste in Bob's Bacolod their take on Chicken Satay. I can say it was good but I am looking forward to tasting other versions of it. The peanut sauce was prominent in the dish, chicken was tender and definitely a must try.

Carbs on the Rise! Oh my Carbonara!

My palate has always been searching for the best carbonara. I even made one myself 2 Christmas ago. My version was from a Heny Sison recipe. It was the real carbonara which was made of eggs, bacon and parmesan cheese and butter. That was a 4-ingredient carbonara recipe. It tasted good but since I am a Filipino, I want something bold and thicker. A pasta with a body.  From that time on I was in search for the best Carbonara I could ever have.

I tried also making other pasta dishes with white sauce but a few months ago, Anthony and I were able to taste that of Perri Todd's. It was simple yet very tasty and creamy. It is priced at P120, I thought it was the best but was not.

The best version for me was that of MO2 Annex. Their carbonara was superb, fulfilling and suited my taste. It was creamy, buttery and very milky. Calcium was everywhere and I had a good fill, it is also less expensive, for only P180 you can get to taste their Carbonara. It was really good that I can almost eat the whole single serving of it.

Overloaded with bacon bits, butter, cheese and cream, definitely it is a must try!

Szechuan Eggplant - Explodes like no other

If you are not fond of eating vegetables, most especially eggplants, I would definitely recommend to you Emperor Wok's Szechuan Eggplant. It is very tasty, a very authentic Chinese dish. It is a mixture of spicy, sweet and salty. All the flavors surely will explode in your mouth. You will even taste it even better if you close your eyes and let the magic work on you.

Although it may seem so fatty and loaded with lots of cholesterol but it is not. It is just slathered very well with sesame oil which gives off the appetizing aroma and nutty flavor to the dish.

This was a discovery from a new and upcoming restaurant along Valeria St. called emperor's Wok. Try it out!

Crispy Talaba - A New Discovery, A New Favorite

One quiet Sunday evening, while we were strolling the streets of Iloilo along the Delgado area, we were in search for something to eat, something new to discover. We were prompted to eat again due to the fact that I was not satisfied with Mooon Cafe's carbonara ( it tasted like Maggi seasoning). In terms of carbonara I still prefer that of MO2 Annex and Perri Todd's.

So, since Anthony and I had enough of fast food, we decided to try Buto't Balat. Since I was kinda full already, we ordered a plate of Crispy talaba and sizzling country chicken meal. I was craving for Mango shake so I ordered one. The mango shake turned out to be sour and made me winced of its sourness.

Crispy Talaba with Clarified Butter
The real discovery for that night was the Crispy talaba. I was expecting it to be bland but I was surprised when I tasted it together with the clarified butter as its dipping sauce. It tasted heavenly. very creamy and just enough to make us sing like the cherubim and angels in Heaven.
